Dr. Anand Persuad, accused of selling prescriptions, out on $500,000 bail

MINEOLA – The Baldwin doctor accused of selling prescriptions was released from jail on $500,000 bail today.

Dr. Anand Persaud was originally denied bail after his arrest earlier this week.

Prosecutors say Persaud made $1.4 million over two years for selling more than 5,000 prescriptions for oxycodone and other drugs. The money remains unaccounted for. Wholly smack! Really? 1.4 Million! I guess that is how you afford bail. I hope the bail bond company charged 10%.
